Fritjof Capra Announces the Launch of Capra Course
New On-Line Course Will Teach People Around the World The Systems View of Life
Fritjof Capra today announces his new on-line course Capra Course (www.capracourse.net) which is based on his book The Systems View of Life – A Unifying Vision which is coauthored with Pier Luigi Luisi and published by Cambridge University Press. Capra Course will be launching early next year, and allows people around the world to join Fritjof as he takes them through twelve different lectures over the course of twelve weeks.
In addition to the lectures and course materials, Fritjof will be joining students on-line each week to discuss the ideas in more detail via on-line forums. In order to ensure that Fritjof is able to fully interact with everyone therefore, the numbers for each course will be limited.
In developing this course, Fritjof will not only be able to offer this course globally, but it will be run a number of times each year, thus helping to deepen our systemic understanding of life, its systems, and how we can act to enhance life and prosper, both ecologically and economically.
Speaking about the course, Fritjof said:
“With this course I am pursuing several goals: to spread knowledge of the systems view of life among a worldwide audience; to create a model for similar multidisciplinary courses to be offered at universities, colleges, and other institutions of learning; to allow me to reduce my travel and lecture schedule as I get older, while creating an alternative revenue stream; and finally, as a long-term goal, to build up a network of individuals and institutions who teach systems thinking and its applications for a wide range of professions — from economics and management to politics, health, education, design, and law.”
